About The Artist

Portrait of the artist

Nazar Kutseryb is a Berlin-based artist working primarily with oil on canvas. Originally from Ukraine, he studied at the Lviv National Academy of Arts, where he developed a strong foundation in classical painting, composition, and visual perception.

His work explores atmosphere, memory, and the space between reality and interpretation. Drawing from both natural environments and internal impressions, his paintings move between stillness and subtle tension — familiar at first glance, yet open to deeper reading.

Through a careful balance of light, texture, and composition, Kutseryb creates images that are not fixed narratives but rather moments of perception. Some works are rooted in landscapes and quiet observation, while others shift toward abstraction, where structure and emotion begin to dissolve into more intuitive forms.

Working with oil paint allows for depth, layering, and gradual transformation. Each piece is built over time, where control and spontaneity coexist, resulting in surfaces that evolve with light and perspective.

Influenced by both his Eastern European background and contemporary artistic approaches, his work carries a sense of introspection and restraint, inviting the viewer to slow down and engage with their own interpretation.
